A small whiteboard can be a great place to write down lists, practice drawing diagrams and save wasting paper with endless post-it notes
WEEKLY PLANNER
University is VERY busy with everything including your course, socieites, sports and social life. Having a planner is a good way to stay organised and keep on top of key deadlines and appointments.
Having somewhere to jot down your ideas about assignments and any information from lectures/sessions is very useful. Make sure to keep this organised so you can find the notes again later!!

MICROSOFT SUBSCRIPTION
You can get this for free as soon as you start at Cardiff, including One Drive storage!!
TEXTBOOKS
You can get all the books you need from the library. Often you only need a chapter of a book based on a specific lecture so it is not worth buying the whole book. The library also has lots of online copies of books. You will be introduced to the library during the first semester.
These are often not compatible with university software and can cause lots of problems with accessing online learning and completing coursework. Best to stick to a Windows or Mac laptop!
